Serving as a member of the Chesapeake School Board for the past three years has been one of the greatest honors of my life. And now, I am excited to announce that I am seeking re-election on November 3, 2026.

My service began as a parent speaking up at school board meetings about issues affecting my family.  That advocacy led to the trust and support of parents, educators, school employees, and members of the Chesapeake community. I was elected to my first term in November 2022. I was then honored to be elected board vice-chair in 2025 and chair in January 2026.

I am proud of the achievements of Chesapeake Public Schools during my tenure.  Together, we’ve made real progress like:

  • Expanded school safety - increased school deputies, security officers, and completed vestibules at all secondary campuses

  • Kept classrooms focused on academics, not agendas - ensuring parents have a seat at the table. A campaign promise made and kept!

  • Expanded existing programs and added new programs at the Chesapeake Career Center - Criminal Justice, Early Childhood Education, Medical Lab Technology, Precision Machining, and more . . .

  • Chesapeake Public Schools fully accredited - strong results on state assessments, exceeding the state average in every category

  • Dramatically reduced the bus driver shortage

  • Increased planning time for elementary school teachers

As a former PTA president, healthcare professional, and mother of four school-aged children, I strongly support parental rights and safe, high-quality education for every student. As chair, I know how to build coalitions and deliver results rooted in our shared values.

Though we’ve made tremendous progress, there is still more to do.

  • Open another state-of-the-art elementary school to alleviate overcrowding and reduce portables (Culpepper Landing), and secure funding for existing outdated infrastructure (Carver Intermediate)

  • Career Center advancement having already secured multimillion-dollar grants to assist

  • Increasing safety measures by adding vestibules at elementary campuses and enhancing high-tech security protocols

  • Retaining exceptional teachers and providing engaging experiences so that every student can achieve their highest unique potential, ready to Enlist, Enroll, or Employ upon graduation.

I kindly ask for your support and VOTE on November 3rd, 2026, to keep Chesapeake Public Schools moving in the right direction!
